The  Yellow Wallpaper

In October of 2018, Caitlin Ort was proud to present her new play, THE YELLOW WALLPAPER, as part of the New York International Fringe Festival - FringeNYC. This play is an adaptation of the short story written by Charlotte Perkins Gilman. Haunting and provocative, THE YELLOW WALLPAPER combines the classic text with contemporary dance to examine toxic masculinity and issues surrounding women's mental health. It tells the story of a woman named Jane, who is suffering from postpartum depression, and her husband John, a physician who prescribes her "The Rest Cure". During her eight weeks of solitary confinement, Jane begins to experience hallucinations that there is a woman trapped behind the wallpaper.
